Me nominated? Aw shucks…

16 Apr

I love that this award is given by my fellow blogging peers.  Its nice to know that someone actually reads this thing.  LOL  Well, I googled this award earlier this afternoon, when I got a notification that someone chose me (fiddly dee, little ol’ me [in my best Scarlet O’hara tone]) and I was still a bit confused.  This is what was on MidKnit Owl’s blog (who was the gracious, super awesome and really cool person who nominated me 😉 ).

The Leibster Award is given by bloggers, to bloggers, and it’s purpose is to highlight blogs with under 200 followers that deserve a look. Encouraging people to visit blogs that others enjoy seems like a great initiative. The rules for the award are pretty straightforward:

1. Post eleven facts about myself

2. Answer the questions given to me by the person who nominated me

3. Invent eleven questions to ask people whom I wish to nominate for the award

4. Choose eleven people (with fewer than 200 followers) to give this award to and link to them in my post.

5. Go to their blog and tell them.

11 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF

1.  I’m not very creative, so it’s going to take my a while to think of interesting things about me.  LOL

2.  I got married on the beach that LOST was filmed on, in Hawaii (you guys all know what LOST is right??)

3.  I was in labor for 43 hours with my son…all natural.  WOW  I did have to end up having a emergency C section after all that work.

4. I am a lover of all things candles.

5. I hate expensive bras and name brand purses.  (Don’t get me wrong, I love a great expensive leather bag, just I don’t like to be a walking advertisement).

6.  I have a purse that is made of deer fur…sorry to my vegan followers.

7.  My feet hurt when I wear flat shoes.

8. My husband is a full time professional hockey referee and works full time for Levi Strauss.  He is a very hard worker (love you babe 😉 )

9.  I became allergic to peaches when I was pregnant.  Nothing like finding that out the hard way.

10.  My goal is to open my own knitting shop in the cute little downtown where I live.

11.  I would drop everything if my husband agreed to move our family to Paris.  It’s my favorite place in the world.  I keep asking but he’s not budging.

QUESTIONS I HAVE TO ANSWER

1. Rain or snow?  Rain

2. How did you first start knitting and/or crafting?  I pretty much begged my Mother-in-law to teach me.  She did but only after saying “I don’t there is enough time tonight for you to learn”, 15 minutes later, I was knitting on my own.  LOL  We still laugh about that to this day.  It has been three years now, since I’ve learned the amazing craft.

3. Would you prefer to live somewhere very warm, or somewhere very cold?  Very warm, for sure!

4. What’s the strangest place you’ve ever knitted/crafted?  I’ve knitted while walking.  The yarn was under my arm.  That must’ve been really strange to the onlookers.  I just couldn’t put the WIP down. hahah.

5. If you had to invite three historical figures to dinner, who would they be?  Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and President John F. Kennedy

6. What talent would you like to learn?  Painting.  I’ve tried and it looked like a 5 year old threw up on the canvas.

7. Favorite movie?  The notebook and Gladiator (can I say two?)

8. First pet?  The first one I remember being mine was a cat named Ashley.

9. British comedy or US sitcom?  I say the US sitcom, only because Im from the US so I’m not familiar at all with the British TV.

10. If you could go on holiday right this minute, where would you go?  Oahu, Hawaii.

11. Favorite Sunday afternoon activity?  In the spring, it’s definitely walking around Smithville with my family (see my blog for my Smithville posts).

HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS FOR MY NOMINATED BLOGGERS

1.  Do you prefer Live TV or DVR?

2. What makes you click the “follow blog” button on someone else’s blog?

3.  Apple or PC?

4.  What was your favorite hobby when you were a child?

5.  Coffee or Tea?

6.  Where in the world is favorite place to visit?

7.  How did you learn to do your craft?

8.  If you could pick another craft to be really great at, what would it be?

9.  Do you prefer paper books or e-books?

10.  What is in your topics search on your wordpress reader page?

11.  What is your favorite movie?

Congrats on your nomination, and thank you for nominating me for the Liebster award. It’s always nice to know someone out there reads my little blog. Off to work on those 5 tasks.

Congratulations for your deserved nomination 🙂 and many thanks for including my blog in your nomination list! I’ll get on with the tasks, I’m bad at answering questions, so it may take me a bit longer…

Sorry!! in the end I thought I’m just crap with answering questions… also, my blog is fairly new so there isn’t much content or many other blogs I’m following yet… but I really appreciated your nomination and also thanks for including a link to my blog!

Hahaha no worries. I probably won’t do those questions either next time. Ill just take it as a compliment and keep on going. Lol.
